Crippled

Why you would choose him I’ll never know,

addicted, cursed, blasphemous thing

of a person

who watched his grandmother die

and himself do the

same to the artificial joy of another

drink, another line.

And his staunch humanity blankets itself over

my cold skin more worthy than yours. And his exit

reveals a cripple as I fall to my knees.

Forgive me. Please.
