Mountain Rains

We danced,

Through thunder storms

And wild winds.

We sang

At the top of our lungs

In a cave in the mountains.

The echoes reverberated back and forth

Resounding our love over and over.

When the rain stopped,

We stepped outside.

The gravel and mud making music

On the very ground where we walked.

Every step a symphony,

Waiting to be played.

We held hands, and they were wet.

But they didn’t slip apart.

We walked to the top of the mountain

And looked out on the world,

And saw that it was good.

And we were well pleased.

And when the rain came again, we stayed.

Let it wash us clean.

And we were wet.

But we didn’t slip apart.
