Unrelenting

Competition.

I’ve wasted my whole life for you.

And what have you returned?

Bitter feelings, corrupted soul,

A distorted sense of relationship.

And what do I have to show?

A lot of medals strewn about

Somewhere I don’t know.

Because if there’s one good lesson

I learned from competition,

It’s to never look back.

Ignore the footsteps, and keep my eyes ahead,

Sprinting, gasping, burning,

Unrelenting

in the pursuit.

The pursuit of what?

I don’t know.

Anymore.

Friends? Speed? Fame? Money?

Love?

You tell me,

Because I’m too busy

Looking forward.

Unrelenting

In my pursuit.

Come what may.

Come what may.
